Our Fees
At Central Ontario Psychology, we firmly believe in increased, equitable access to psychological care. We work towards making this happen by working closely with the Ontario Psychological Association, and supporting its efforts. Unfortunately, psychological services in private practices are not currently covered by OHIP, and it's still difficult to access psychological care in publicly funded settings.
The standard fee for psychological services is $250 per hour. However, in an effort to make our services more affordable, we are often able to reduce our standard fees. Our services are often covered by Extended Health Benefits plans, though the annual limits can vary considerably; please consult your plan for details.
Services provided by an associate under our supervision may be available at a reduced cost, but note that some plans do not accept this arrangement. If you are to be seen by a supervisee, it's important to ensure your benefits will cover it. We have developed a guide for communicating to your insurance provider about supervised services; please click here.
We often have students under our training; depending on their level of experience, their services may be available at a substantial discount. Their work is carefully supervised, and this can be an excellent way to obtain affordable treatment.
In addition to Extended Health Benefits, our services may be covered by WSIB, long term disability providers, or Veterans Affairs Canada.
As many sessions are now taking place via phone or video, you will be asked to provide a credit card number which we can keep on file. This will be charged only after services have been rendered, if you are responsible for paying for those services.
We regret that, due to low reimbursement and onerous administrative demands, we will no longer accept new referrals for motor vehicle accidents.
