Kayla completed a Master of Arts through Western University, and previously completed her undergraduate training at Toronto Metropolitan University (formally Ryerson University). She is currently continuing her graduate training with a Masters of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology at the University of Calgary.
Kayla has gained a unique and diverse perspective working with children and youth through various research projects focusing on attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder and reading. Kayla worked with children and youth as a Psychology Intern at the Thames Valley District School Board, and as a student clinician at the Integrates Services in Education at the University of Calgary. She has more recently been expanding her skillset and experience while working as a tutor and emergency supply teacher with the Simcoe County District School Board. Kayla has been volunteering as a Crisis Responder with Kids Help Phone, offering mental health and emotional support to at-risk youth and in-crisis individuals. She has also trained her dog, Daisy, to become a school therapy dog at Terry Fox Elementary School, in partnership with the Sweet Charity Canine Ambassador Program. Kayla is keen on providing her services as psychometrist while continuing her studies toward becoming a psychological associate, and gaining registration with the Colleges of Psychologists of Ontario. She will be working under the supervision of registered Psychologists. Please contact our office for an intake. |
