​Judy earned her Bachelor of Science degree (Honours Psychology and Biology) from the University of Toronto in 1991, and completed a Diploma in Child Study (Assessment and Counselling) from the Institute of Child Study at University of Toronto in 1993.

Judy worked in the Child and Family Unit at Kingston General and Hotel Dieu Hospitals in Kingston from 1993 to 1998, as well as for the Hastings and Prince Edward County School Board (formerly Hastings County School Board). She relocated to York Region in 1998 and has been working in the Department of Child and Adolescent Mental Health at Southlake Regional Health Centre since then.

She is registered as a Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts ​of Ontario and is licensed to work with children and adolescents, and their families. Judy is also a member of the Ontario Psychological Association.
