Kadir is currently pursuing his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Medaille College in Buffalo. He has earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University and his Master’s in Counselling, from Nova Southeastern University, specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Kadir works with adults and enjoys supporting individuals that are experiencing any mental health concerns. He maintains a client centered approach to psychotherapy. His approach is holistic and utilizes an eclectic approach that emphasizes the client’s individual strengths, needs and goals. Kadir values the therapeutic relationship and sees it as a central component of the work that he does with his clients. His warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental approach to psychotherapy nurtures a safe and supportive environment where clients can process their experiences and engage in self exploration which he believes promotes insight and fosters growth.
Kadir has worked with children and adolescents diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder for several years in a variety of settings, including school boards, public and private treatment centres, and hospitals. Most recently he received clinical training at Pathstone Mental Health where he conducted psycho-educational assessments for children and adolescents that were experiencing mental health concerns, behavioral challenges or learning difficulties. He wrote clinical reports that provided interpretations of results, clinical implications that identified treatment needs as well as recommendations that can be used for treatment planning.
Kadir is a psychology apprentice, working towards registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. He provides services under the supervision of registered Psychologists. For more information about supervised psychological services, please click here.
